NRF Research & Scholarship Award (RSA) Competition:
Request for Expressions of Interest by 15 December, 2008
The National Research Foundation of the UAE will hold a Research & Scholarship Award (RSA) Competition during 2009. The aim of the program is to support excellent research and scholarship in any field within the UAE.
Faculty currently resident in the UAE and employed in any of the Federal or CAA institutions are eligible to apply. The maximum award size is expected to be one million AED over three years, although the average award will likely be closer to 750,000 AED. There must be at most 3 co-Principal Investigators (PIs) for each proposal and one of these must be designated as the spokesperson (PI) for the proposal. An individual may only be the PI on one proposal, and a co-PI on at most one more proposal. The competition is expected to be a two-stage process with a pre-proposal due around the middle of February, 2009. More details of the competition are available in the Call for Proposals document that will be available on the NRF web site www.nrf.ae within a few days.
In order to be eligible for RSA competition in 2009, applicants must submit a one page Expression of Interest (EOI) to NRF by Dec 15, 2008. This EOI must include the Title of the proposal, the PI's name and contact information, a list of co-PIs and their contact information plus a 250 word description of the proposal, and a list of at least five relevant keywords. A template for the EOI with more details of the submission process are available on the NRF web site www.nrf.ae. The PIs must also designate in which disciplinary area of research or scholarship they wish their proposal to be reviewed. A list of disciplinary areas is contained in the Call for Proposals and will be available as a drop-down menu in the EOI template.
