Future Research Scholars visit NRF

On August 5 a group of 18 female students from Zayed University paid a visit to NRF. All of these undergraduates are third and fourth year students, as well as members of the Zayed University Research Scholars Program. The Program held their first Research Institute this summer, and part of this program includes exposing the scholars to research organizations and research-based careers in the UAE. The all-female group of students are from both the Abu Dhabi and Dubai campuses. Director of the ZU Research Scholars Program Janet Thomas and her co faculty members Dr. Maher Khelifa and Ms. Birgitta Fledges accompanied the group to our offices in Knowledge Village. During the presentation at NRF the young scholars were explained the importance of developing a research or knowledge-based economy in UAE. In addition they explored the role NRF plays and the importance of fostering new research talent like themselves in universalities across the Emirates. All of the students selected for the Program are all highly motivated and were nominated to participate in this program by their professors. NRF supports the mission of the Zayed University Research Scholars Program and looks forward to witnessing the progress of these promising future researchers.
